Jim Carrey brings his manic Madness into a role tailor-made for him. "The Cable Guy" is a dark comedy that teams Carrey with Matthew Broderick. It's a film for those who like humor. Jim Carrey is a pathetic, lonely cable installer. Matthew Broderick is an up-right architect just dumped by his girlfriend. Carrey decides to be his best friend. Carrey struts his usual physical comedy and is hillarious. But Broderick is also terrific. He holds his own as the comic fool. But this is Carrey's film. He's over the top, demented and proves he can act a bit as he becomes obsessed with being Broderick's buddy. "The Cable Guy" takes you on a weird trip. Some of it is too much-even scary. Most of it is dark, inventive and funny. This film made me laugh really hard. Some Movie Faqs: |
